Syntax highlighting should be done in the engine, for maximum speed. See bug 9632.

As noted in bug 10248, a 600KB source file can take up to 5 minutes to syntax highligh on a PowerBook. This is obviously far too slow to be usable.

I am experiencing this with r39293 (new WebKit inspector, no longer Drosera). I have a 600k Javascript file, and it takes many minutes, with the CPU pegged, for the highlighting to complete. Is it possible to disable syntax highlighting as a workaround?
